A parable drawn from ancient Egyptian theology by Hryhorii Skovoroda
Presented through the ancient sacred songs irmos and its katavasia
premiere 2004

For it is the soul this complex theatrical discussion will pursue. It directly opens the path for a person to know his soul and be aware of transcending time.  From trying to philosophize out of a pithos-like jar to the moment when said jar transforms into a sand clock, to understanding that the last grains of the clock have already begun to flow—to thoughts of time as Eternal.  Then the sacred songs of Irmos sweep up to heaven….A person in this traverses from birth in a cocoon to feet washing, from trying to curl up in pain, as if in the womb, to finding the courage to spread arms for crucifixion.
